When writing about Phoenix’s history, it isn’t some sap story about how her owners were so cruel and mean or that she longed for the wild so much she escaped. She loved her owners very much, and all her siblings.
She had a lot of siblings actually, since her twolegs were breeders. She often considered herself to be their favorite cat, but even when they failed to give her attention she always knew some cat would want to play with her.
Now back to her actual story, the point when she first was born. She was one in a litter of three, all born healthy kits. Her brother, Harry, was black and white, and had a strange looking mark on his forehead. Her sister was a beautiful kit, and Phoenix often tried to keep herself from envying her calico pattern. She was named Lily. And the last kit, Phoenix herself was the last to be born, was a bright orange cat.
She heard a twoleg voice, the twoleg kit she would later call Mary, first speak her name. ”Just like my story book, let’s name her Phoenix!” she said, as Phoenix heard mumurs.
Last to be born however, she opened her eyes a day before Harry or Lily, and started exploring a day before as well. She discovered her father was missing, but her mother Ginger was still there. Ginger allowed her to explore, anywhere in the house she said. But Phoenix musn’t go outside. And again, not like most histories of cats she didn’t get too curious and slip her head outside, only to immediately run off into the woods.
She dwelled in the house, at first wary of her twolegs, but then purring at them. Mary was the most loving towards her, as Phoenix spent nights in her room as she held something open, saying things Phoenix didn’t understand. She didn’t know twolegs odd customs, but she thought they were normal enough.
A day later, Lily opened her eyes. Phoenix saw Harry open his eyes and mew once to her, before being taken away. But since Phoenix barely knew him, she didn’t think about it. Lily however was more skeptic, never quite trusting her twolegs fully.
Phoenix spent most of her days relaxing with Mary, or playing with Lily or one of the other cats. Like mentioned before, the family were breeders, so they had many cats to play with.
Enter Vet. Vet was a tall man, and very wide. Phoenix often wondered why he was so wide while her twolegs weren't. She loathed when Vet entered the house, always poking her with sharp sticks and hurting her. One day he even knocked her out. But like all the rest of the cats, she put up with Vet, always knowning Mary wasn't the cause of all this.
Then, Vet continued to come. He came every seven sunsets, and after he had been coming about five moons phases. After that, Phoenix woke up in her bed, and trotted up to Marys room where she usually was still asleep. She always patiently waited for her until she came out. But today she was already up, and water was running down her face.
Phoenix hopped beside her, as Mary collasped. Phoenix struggled out of her grasp, wondering what had made her twoleg so upset. She found out as walking down the steps she realized her mom wasn't in her bed. She spent the whole day searching for her mom, but she was nowhere to be found.
Mary started to get distracted with other twolegs that came in the house. Some liked Phoenix and stroked her all the time, while other hated her, and even pushed her aorund some. Phoenix was glad Mary didn't let those twolegs stay in the house alot.
Phoenix started taking a liking to other cats around the house, including the kits that were being birthed. Since she took more time away from her sister, her sister started to become jealous. She would mumble things about Phoenix, although Phoenix tried ignoring them they always got to her one way or the other.
She started going out to the garden more, enjoying the sunlight. It made her forget about her mom, and her brother. Her sister she started resenting more and more as each sunset passed. And now that her mother was gone she spent most of her time inside her fenced in yard. Just a couple times she would pass the boundaries of the fence, but never for too long.
One day when she got back in, the whole house was in a frenzy. Cats were everywhere meowing, and yowling, as men with big nets started chasing them around. Pheonix tried to escape and slip back through the opening in the door, but it was too late. The net slipped around her, and bent her into a shape she never would normally be in. She yowled forever, but no help came to her.
She was put in the back of a big metal container, she didn't know what it was called. But it was tall, with four circles on the bottom, and it made a horrfiyling loud noise. She was also put in another cage, inside the cage, but this one a lot smaller. It had bars that prevented her movement, and it was dark. Dark and lonely.
She fell asleep, but when she woke up, she was being taken out of the metal container. She was about 3 moons old at this point, and had no idea what was going on. She was taken into a nest, much like the one she lived in, but a lot busier. Twolegs were everywhere, along with mean dogs, and cats. Some cats looked scared. Some wore no expression, just a mask.
Pheonix was taken into a seperate room, and taken out of the cage. A man with different colored skin on his hands, that felt odd on hers, touched her all over, and she unsheathed her claws, batting at the man. In a response to that, the man took out a sharp metal like tool, and sliced off her claws. She however, still had very sharp claws, and made the twoleg have some red stuff appear on his arm all over. She was shut back in the cage as the twolegs continued to talk.
Things like: "We can't continue if this keeps happening?" "What can we do?" "Well I only know one procedure, but don't worry, it's very safe for a housecat!" and things like that. Before she knew it, the man had signed a paper, and left leaving her with the odd skined man. And before she knew it again, he was coming back at her with tools. He was mumbling things like: "This fur might get in the way alot." "We don't want any movement." and stuff. And then he connected the wall with a snake, and on the end of the snake, was a buzzing head with lots of teeth!
"This fur shouldn't be too hard to get rid of..." he said as he touched the snake to her body, and she yowled, and jumped up. "Down kitty!" he snapped, and hit her, as she tried to calm down. He ran the snake all over her, and she felt a cold breeze.
She looked back to see her ginger fur scattered on the table, and while she wasn't looking he poked her with something, and she fainted.
