Torrentfoot moved swiftly across the sandy surface, in fear of being thrown off his feet by a tornado. Those little things had chased him more than once while out hunting, and he's taken more injuries from them than from fighting. But now he stood much bigger than he used to, and had more experience on his pelt. Torrentfoot however, wasn't the smartest of cats and was bound to mess up at some point.
He dodged the tornado by quickly cutting left, and when he thought he was clear of danger, the tornado looped around and turned toward him! He grunted in anger and sprinted off, this time at double the speed. As he bolted off, his legs twitching with adrenaline, the wind began to die down and the tornado soon disassembled. He let out a sigh of relief and began to trot off, when he scented a rabbit. The rabbit was only a few fox lengths away and it hadn't spotted him. Wow! he thought, what a mousebrain... and at this, he went into the hunter's crouch, and quickly pounced the rabbit. With a swift bite to the neck the rabbit lay limp, and he quickly buried it in the sand and tore off down the hills.
As he ran along, Torrentfoot ended up slowing down and getting lost in his thoughts. How he wanted an apprentice! He had been a warrior for over 4 moons, he should have had his own apprentice by now! But he knew there were not many kits in the clan and for the ones that were, they would go to the more senior warriors. He let the thought pass and picked up speed again, finding another rabbit. He leaned on his back haunches and crept up quietly, killing it just like the last one. Despite it being later leaffall, there was a lot of prey out there. He buried it just like the last and went off.
