Jewelfern slunk out of her den, fur ruffled from her un-satisfying sleep. She yawned, and gave a huge sigh. Then looked around, darting her gaze over the clearing. She had forgotten that it was rather early, and no cat would be awake yet; she didn't want to disturb them. She padded slowly over to the fresh-kill pile, eyes blurry. She stumbled over a small pebble. She glared down at it, and let out a small snort of annoyance at her own clumsiness. She reached the pile, standing tall in the center of the camp. She studied each piece carefully; she was and always had been, a picky eater. She tentaively snatched a small vole of the middle of the pile and bit into it eagerly, letting the flavors fill her mouth. She gave another sigh, she felt so thouroughly exhausted. The pure feeling of tiredness sinking into and through every one of her bones.
She happened to glance up at the sky, something she always did; the sky fascinated her. It was filled with so many colors and changed so often.. like her life. Sometimes, it would be a light, sparkling blue, pure blue. Reflected the joy and pleasure from the world. There would be the occasional puff of white, delicate cloud that drifted accross, spoiling the blue, yet not completely ruining it's affect. But this time.. it was so different. Too different. The sky had changed, becoming a dark, dull gray. To Jewelfern, it seemed threatening.. like it was closing in on her. She let out a little yowl; she couldn't help it. A distance boom, led her back to reality. She raced over to her leader's den. 'S-Shootingstar, something's coming..' She stumbled over the words, making her mew almost indeciphirable.

Hawkstorm turns from laying on her right side to laying on her left. Her paws twitch and her claws unsheathe. He tail flicks against the ground. It makes a loud thumping noise. She crinkles her nose and lets out a fierce mrow. Her claws scrape against the ground as she moves her limbs. She is clearly having a dream. A simple fantasy dream of a normal cat. Mostly Medicine cats are the type to have prophecy dreams that are terrifying. Some cats have nightmares. This is a somewhat good dream though one that probably won't happen and doesn't make much sense.
Hawkstorm has found herself in a field. She doesn't know how she got here. She was just padding along and somehow found herself in this strange place. She looks around. The wind is blowing straight in her face. She feels misplaced. She can smell the scents of other cats in the distance. She sees a rabbit. It is smaller and weaker looking. Her instinct is to go after it. She crouches down. She knows that rabbits are fast though there really aren't any in her home turf. She shoots forward. The furry brown creature bolts. Its fluffy white tail flashes as it hops onward. Hawkstorm runs as fast as she can but she is having trouble. She gives up and stops. She breathes heavily. Her lungs are on fire. She glares at the rabbit as it settles and feeds on some plants. Determined, she tries again after she can breath normally. She circles around to the left side of the prey item. She dashes after it. She had decided it would be a good idea to drive it towards her territory and claim it wondered there. It gets scared as it nears the trees. The stupid thing turns and runs right at Hawkstorm. She pounces and breaks its neck. Her prize dangles in her jaws as she pads back. Suddenly she hears a loud hiss and feels claws digging into her. She yowls...
Hawkstorm jolts awake. She is breathing heavily. She blinks her eyes and looks around. She squints trying to remember what sent her into such a shock. She can only recall that it had something to do with a rabbit. This doesn't make sense to the puzzled she-cat. The territory she lives in does not have rabbits, but other territories might. She shakes her head and lets out a sigh. She gets onto her paws. She stretches and her tail flicks to the side. She pads into the open light. She closes her eyes for a moment.
Hawkstorm padded out of the camp she had stumbled upon. She looked around. Her sharp eyes scanned the ground. She soon spotted the brown lump laying in the snow. She leaned her head down. She wrapped her jaws around its small body and tightened her teeth into its flesh. She turned around and headed back towards camp. She wove around the trees. She pushed through the water easier than she would have expected. She arrived and every cats eyes were upon her. She walked confidently to where the other prey items were. She placed the mouse down. "What are you all looking at?" She hissed sharply to the staring furry bodies standing about. They scurried off and went about their business.
Hawkstorm opens her eyes. The light flows in and she keeps her eyes narrowed. She pads to the Fresh Kill Pile. She blinks a few times and opens her eyes wider. She can see completely now. It isn't particularly bright in this place, but there is a difference from where she sleeps to the expanse of open ground that is camp. She grabs a mouse. She desires one after her flashback. It was when she was accepted into the clan and went to retrieve the prey she had forgotten in fighting the enemy that caught it when she was going to. She digs her teeth in hungrily and pulls the flesh away. She chews down the flesh and swallows it once it is soft enough. She sits up and runs her tongue roughly over her pelt to smooth it down.
The brown tabby she-cat has finished grooming. She looks up and notices the dark sky. She scowls. Her eyes narrow and her nose crinkles. She flicks her tail about. It thumps against the ground. She runs her tongue over her upper jaw. It touches her nose just slightly because of its length. She feels her pelt prickle and stand on end at the light chill of the ominous humid air. She looks around to see no other cat up yet. She turns her head. Her yellow eyes flicker on the leader's den. Her ear twitches at the slight noises coming from it. She gets a little closer and peers in to see Jewelfern. She nods in conformation that she wasn't just hearing things. She sits there and listens to the rustling of the leaves in the threatening breeze.

Ivoryfang lay down in a white heap of fur, she was thrashing slightly in her sleep, her jaws open, slightly drooling, she was fast asleep in a regular dream, she was only chasing a butterfly around a field.
Ivoryfang shifted her pure white head straight up, a large midnight blue butterfly with jet black spots flew above her head, Ivoryfang began to paw slightly at it, the butterfly began to slowly fly away, so ivoryfang flew after it."Where ya going there, small little tiny... Butterfly?[/b]" She mewed, then followed it, the butterfly twirled high in the crisp night air, Ivoryfang pounced up slightly, her paws almost touching the butterfly's wingtip. She sprinted after it as the Midnight colored butterfly raced away. Ivoryfang gripped onto a tree branch, dug her claws into it, thrust her body up and steadily balanced on the top of the branch, as the butterfly had flown up that lush green tree, since it was night the leaves turned almost black for that tree. Ivoryfang pranced up a lower branch higher up, thrust her body at a higher up branch, dug her claws steadily into it and carefully climbed up onto the top of that branch. Repeating this action again, she caught up to the butterfly, and pawed at it, this only caused the butterfly to fly higher up, this time the branches above her were getting lower, so Ivoryfang easily climbed up the branches and found herself at the top of the tree in about a minute or so. Shifting up her right furry white paw, Ivoryfang mewed and fell down a few branches, as the white she cat lost her balance and sadly, the butterfly fluttered high away in the air. Ivoryfang stared up at the starry dark blue sky, opening her jaws wide, she yawned and jumped down a few branches, another few, and continued to jump branches as she eventually got to the ground.
Right then, Ivoryfang had woken up, but tried to sleep once again, the wind slightly rippled her pelt and she closed her eyes, once more...

There’s a stone in her heart. I pulls, it drops, it aches. It eats away her soul. She wants to melt into the great abyss and never feel again. Anything except the pain, the loss. But then, how can she even feel when she has no heart left to break?
She can’t tell a soul. It festers and spoils everything she is, tainting her very being. This is her venom to carry alone.
She’s broken. And no one can help her glue together the shattered pieces.
But one should not think about these things. A rumble rips from the clouds outside.
“Shootingstar!”
The sky turns black. A storm is coming.

'Shootingstar ?' Jewelfern arrvies, panting at the entrance of her leader's den. She peers anxiously inside, peering into the gloom. It is impossible to see anything in there. She sees out two pin-pricks of light and presumes them to be her leader's eyes, glowing in the dark. 'You heard the storm, right ?' She feels a little ashamed as the words leave her mouth. Of course, Shootingstar of all cats would have. Jewelfern scuffs her paws and looks downwards, hoping the gloom works both ways; so she can't see her leader and her leader can't see her. She looks around anxiously as a huge 'boom' that seems to echo around her. This is followed by an extraordinary flash of bright, white - yellow light. She stares in amazment.. 'It's somehow.. beautiful, isn't it ?' She breathes to Shootingstar, not even sure she is listening. A tree crashes in the distance and her beautiful green - hazel eyes cloud over. 'S-Should we go elsewhere ?' She mews, for the first time sounding anxious, since her original call.

A loud clash of thunder and lightning woke Ivoryfang up. She yawns loudly, then snaps up on her white paws, stares out the den entrance, the sky was black. It was thundering with large frightening bright yellow strikes of lightning. Ivoryfang spots Jewelfern and Shootingstar, "Whats happening with this storm and stuff?" She mews innocently, staring at the cloudy black sky, the moon was almost compleatly blocked by clouds, Ivoryfang ruffles her white pelt, stretching her back, she wittnesses the sight of a tree crashing, winds knocked her over, they weren't to bad or life threatening, like the ones she heard about in Rubyclan. Slowly, a clash of lightning hit the ground right in front of Ivoryfang, she screamed, then ran away with all her force and jumped in a tree, no WHAT A FOOLISH ACT TO DO. She quickly jumped off the tree, and ran back inside the Warriors den. The rain started to soak her pelt, but Ivoryfang got in the den right after.

Shootingstar shook her head to clear it, and peered through the gloomy mist at Jewelfern. 'Beautiful' as the storm may be, it was still dangerous. She stretched, and padded to the entrance of her den to sit beside Jewelfern. She could hear the wind howling in the distance, and the faint snapping of branches.
"Make sure our camp walls are secure, and bring all kits and apprentices into their dens. Everyone else should stay away from the camp's outer edges as a precaution. Oh, and stay away from water for now... we don't need anyone getting electrocuted. We'll have to sit this one out until it's over... this is one of the safest places in Emeraldclan. Worse comes to worse, we can evacuate, but I doubt that will be necessary. It looks nasty, though."

Jewelfern's legs trembled slightly at the thought of having to give orders to all these cats and her eyes were wide. Yet, she didn't once question the word of her leader. She quickly nodded, spotting the concern and hurried message in her leader's own eyes. She turned swiftly, ducking her head as she left the den, her tail streaming out behind her as she raced to find the other cats. She managed to find Hawkstorm, 'Uhh.. Hawkstorm ?' She mewed, uncertainty filling her mew. She didn't know how she would react to her asking.. or more telling her to do something. 'Would you mind getting all the apprentices together, or the warriors ? I don't mind which.. It's just Shootingstar asked me to gather all the cats and as you're her deputy..' She trailed off and dipped her head. 'If you'd like me to do something, else instead if.. ?' Her eyes were wide with anticipation, and for a heartbeat she looked right at her. As she lowered her gaze, finally, she thought anxiously about her other clan members. She sent a silent prayer to StarClan, begging them to keep all her cats safe and if they had to have any, let it be her.
