The Den and Such

Sagewhisper yawned, stretching. She smiled, another day had come. She wanted somethig to do.

Blossomflower woke early; earlier than usual. She slowly raised her head, being careful to make her movments swift and fluid. She peered around the den; all seemed quiet.. peaceful. She looked through the den entrance. A faint ray of sun was making its way feebly through. It was barely visible on the back wall, where Blossomflower had been resting just seconds ago. Blossomflower got up, quickly raising herself to her paws. She yawned again, and stretched, leaning backwards onto her hind legs. She felt her muscles ripple beneath her pelt and unsheathed her claws for an instant.

She padded through the small den, weaving her way through seemingly endless numbers of cats. She held her breath, trying to remain quiet; she did not wish to disturb them. She looked up to the sky as she walked out. A fresh breeze, warm, hit her face, blowing her fur gently around making it go in all different directions. She headed for the exit, planning to get a little 'alone' time before it was time to organize the patrols. She gave a weary sigh; sometimes, she found life as a deputy never - ending, with all its decisions and chores. But she would keep doing it for her clan. She walked rather quickly out of the exit, peering around anxiously. The thought never occurred to her, where she was going. She just simply walked. She admired the forest - territory around her, with its thick trees and sparse undergrowth. She had never had much time to look at it properly. She found a spot; beneath a large oak and lay down. She closed her eyes for a second; she hoped no cat would find her here.

Sagewhisper smiled, seeing the sun peer in through the entrence of the Warrior's denn. She decided she would do something today, since Blossomflower was already up and going, she had heard Blossomflower scurry out of the denn, she wanted something to do as well. Sagewhisper stretched one more time and quickly cleaned herself before leaving the denn. She finally left the denn and looked around, waiting for something to do.

Sagewhisper waited for RubyClan's leader, she wanted to help with Dawnpatrol this morning. Her stomache growled. *Mousebile!* she thought, she didnt feel like actually eating anything. The sun hit her cream colored pelt andn she laid down in the middle of camp, waiting for someone to talk to.

Blossomflower awoke to feel a small stick poking into her flank. 'Oww..' she muttered with half - closed eyes. As she forced her eyes open, she saw the sun was shining brightly. She blinked furiously, trying to wake herself up enough, to GET up. She hastened back to the camp, but stopped in the shadow of a nearby tree. She would have to plan this carefully. She noted the positions of the cats around the camp's clearing. Many of the cats were dashing about the clearing and it looked as if some had already gathered in the center of the camp, as if waiting for her to come and lead them on the Dawn Patrol. She muttered a curse under her breath. This was going to be more difficult than she had first thought.

She decided to creep around the other side of camp to get in through a less - used part. She raced around, dodging the many shrubs and brambles that scattered the ground. She reached the far side of the camp, panting slightly - more out of nerves, than tiredness. She saw only one cat near to her and thought she could manage to get in, without being noticed. She snuck in, keeping low to the ground. She didn't know what she planned to say; perhaps just something about sleeping in later than she had expected, in a corner of the den.. She went around the back of the den, then cautiously in front, trying to act like she had been there all the time. She yawned and blinked rapidly, like she was trying to wake up, as she approached her clanmates. 'Sorry.. I - I slept in..' She tried to look sheepish and guilty, she didn't think she pulled it off to well.

Sagewhisper laughed at Blossomflower. "Its fine. Nothing really to do around camp unless your in a ptrol or somthing..." she mewed. She smiled halfway and gave up. *When is Destinystar going to be up? I want to go on Dawnpatrol!* Sagewhisper thought to herself. She stretched again, not knowing what to do. She wanted to up and about durring the day today, helping and moving. The weather was perfectly cool with slight breezes every so often. She just wanted to run through it and eat some rabbit.

Sagewhisper laughed to herself of the image. She looked over at Blossomflower. "So? Did you want to go on patrol this morning?" Sagewhisper asked Blossomflower, trying to make coversation.

Blossomflower looked at Sagewhisper distractly. 'Uh, sure.' She was unusally short, keeping rather quiet, consumed with her own thoughts. She tried to think of any signs she had left that could giver her away from being out early that morning. She nodded more firmly and responded properly to Sagewhisker's question for an idea had struck her. 'All right. If you can gather up another warrior perhaps ? Or apprentice ? We can set off.' She mewed this briskly, not pausing for breath. She really just wanted to get going and lose the other cats as quickly as possible so she could hide her scent. 'Now, if you have no objections, I'd like to go up to the large oak - tree. I thought perhaps there may be something around there,' she continued, quickly thinking of her words before she mewed them in a rushed state to Sagewhisper. 'Good. Now, got another cat ? Alright, let us go.' She turned around abruptly, tail stretched up and trotted off, her paws swift and silent on the damp earthy forest floor. She purposefully let Sagewhisper take the lead, once they were far enough away from camp and dropped back, on the pretence of seeing a squirrel. Once the backs of the others disappeared, she turned around and padded in the other direction. Frequently, she would dart looks behind her, checking for any presence that may be following her, un - seen. The strange thing was, she almost found the absense of any cat watching her, more frightening. She shook her head, clearing her thoughts and continued onwards, towards the Great Oak.
