'Oh,' Fallowkit's heart sank, her tail drooped. She had thought she was going to learn something worthwhile. For once, feel like she was of some use. She was immediately cross with herself. Of course Ninjastorm had more important things to do than teach small kits how to do fighting moves they couldn't learn for moons yet! She swished her tail with annoyance, now moving into boredom. 'Which mouse - brained cat made up the idea that kits couldn't train until they were SIX moons ?' She grumbled to herself, keeping her voice low and at an almost incomprehensible mutter. 'I'm sure, no, I know I could handle the fighting!' She lazily climbed to her paws and set off across the clearing. She didn't take much notice of where she was going; she just simply walked. She stopped and raised her head and to her astonishment, she found herself outside the medicine cats den, where Cyanideblast was currently sitting by a tree. Fallowkit stood staring up at it for a few hearbeats; she simply loved that tree with its glossy green leaves, rich in color and its majestic trunk. She plonked herself next to the other cat. Being the young kit she was, she never thought that her presence might bother anyone else, so she just did what she wanted to, at the time. 'Hey, Cyan,' she murmured, 'd - d'you ever feel like, your more of a burden to your clan ? Not, that you would, being the medicine cat and all.. but, I'm just feeling that way right now.' She trailed off, staring off into the distance.

Cyanideblast at there as Ninjastorm spoke with the young kit. She loved kits. She wanted to be one again. But she wasn't going to be. She looked Ninjastorm's pelt over as he walked past her. She heard him speak and she prickled her ears fondly. "I'm fine, thanks," she lied majestically. He didn't seem to care, he kept walking towards the leaders den. She plopped herself down by the beautiful oak tree. She saw Fallowkit walk past her and sit down beside her. She wondered what she wanted. She sat there as she heard her speak. She sighed quietly. "Kits aren't a burden to the clan, Fallowkit," she said, ignoring the question asked. "They are the best thing a clan could ever want, and you're four moons. In two moons you'll be assigned a mentor. Maybe even Ninjastorm," she said this like it was the best thing a kit would want. [/color]

{ OOC: Is it against the warrior code to teach a kit a little bit of fighting moves without actually telling them to fight against a clan? Posting in another post because it's not a role play :] }

Fallowkit nodded, sensing the other cat wasn't telling the whole truth. She didn't press the matter; it wasn't for her to make Cyanideblast tell her problems or whatever was bothering her. She flicked her tail calmly, still gazing intently up at the trees spreading branches. She listened in as Cyanideblast began to speak. 'I guess..' she mumbled, then brightened as she really thought over what she had said. 'I'd love to have Ninjastorm as my mentor!' Her eyes widened and her tail flicked vigourously, now. Then she seemed to slump. 'But what hope have I got ? I'm just an ordinary kit.. not like.. the leader's kits or anything.' She was careful to mutter this under her breath, then she sat up straight again, forcing down her doubts. 'C-Can you tell me something about your kithood ?' She mewed with uncertainty, she didn't want to feel like she was prying too much. 'Well, just.. just about how you decided to become a medicine cat in the first place.' She smiled faintly, trying to sound encouraging. 'I just want to keep my options open. I mean.. if you don't mind ?'

]Cyanideblast flicked her gray tail and jumped beside the little kit. "You don't have to have Ninjastorm as your mentor, love, you can have any cat," She smiled, flicking her tail again as she looked over the camp. She saw the kit slump, and just before she was about to ask what was wrong, and how she could help, she heard her speaking. "You are almost an apprentice, dear, Ninjastorm is probably going to have the leader's kits, if she has any, mentor. But don't fret, you could have another cat for your mentor. There are alot of important cats in the clan," she smiled gladly, and watched the kits eyes. Her eyes seemed to widen hopefully. Then she heard the question, the question she hadn't heard for a moon now. She began, trying to be short as possible. "I had a strong mother, and she didn't believe kits that made themselves out of the crowd; the one that everyone looked at. She didn't want me to become that cat. But when she died when I was just turning six moons, I had to become a medicine cat. It was my dream, and something always brought me to our medicine cat at the time. So instead of what my mother wanted, I became a medicine cat." it was short, short enough. She watched the kits eyes for a moment, then looked away.

Ninjastorm smiled, the idea of being a mentor again made him excited, "I would love to be anyone's mentor," he said modestly to the other two cats. He looked up at the sky, it was fully bright now, and almost everyone was awake. He then heard someone calling his name. "It must be Fatestar wondering where I am," he mewed "Sorry guys, I would love to stay and chat, but I gotta see what she wants," he padded off to his leader's den without waiting for a reply.

Cyanideblast watched Ninjastorm go. She didn't see what was so great about him, other than him being a rightful deputy. He was a good one, none the less. He was kind, and he tried to stay with the kits and chat a lot. She could see partially why a kit would want him as their mentor, but at the same time she wondered. She looked away. She looked up at the sky. Cats were coming out of hiding in their dens. It was time for her to collect herbs -- no, she wouldn't; they already had enough since no cat was ever sick.

Fallowkit nodded. She had thought that this would be the case, after all it was only natural. Wasn't it ? She listened in, stopping her own thoughts as she heard the medicine cat tell her past. She sat enthralled, amazed by the choice she had made for herself, and only herself. Fallowkit liked that idea. Even though she had no cat that really told her what they wanted her to be. She looked up, distracted by the movement of cats. It was Ninjastorm back again. Fallowkit nodded goodbye, perhaps a little sadly, but not so much as before. She saw others begin to emerge from their dens. She looked at Cyanideblast curiously, she wondered what was going through her head. 'A-Aren't you going to collect some herbs ?' She mewed, 'Look -she flicked her tail- I think one of the warriors is coming over!' Her voice was suddenly filled with excitement which was instantly crushed, as the warrior changed course at the last second.

Cyanideblast sat there and watched Fallowkit's reaction. It was normal, but she hadn't been surprised. She was happy and kind. Amazed, actually. She sat there and then almost lie there. Ninjastorm was leaving for his patrol, and she knew Fallowkit would want to go out of the camp and do something. And her paws ached to move to. She watched Fallowkit identify the warriors, wanting them to come over. She did to, but none of them would. "We should, but we have enough. But I think we don't have any honey; want to come help?" she questioned, softly laying her paws down to the ground.

Fallowkit's head jerked around at the question. She could hardly believe her ears. Instantly, her eyes shone, and they were transformed into a beautiful, sparkling gray, but tinged with more blue than normal. 'Do I want to ?' She breathed, 'you bet !' She instantly jumped to her paws, her eyes wide and her fur fluffed up in the cute manner, that only kits can truly pull off. She waited for the medicine cat, already staring around at the rest of the territory; this was what she had been waiting for all her life ! She knew that today.. something amazing was going to happen.
